Inducted 1998For the past nine years, Mr. Rene Gil, President, has dedicated his energies towards improving students’ lives at Sylvania Heights Elementary School. Through his financial support, the school has planted a butterfly garden, instituted a Frequent Reader Program and enabled students to participate in various school-to-career activities. This past year Mr. Gil purchased reading books for limited English speakers who have demonstrated improvement in the Accelerated Reader Program. He also supported the musical program by purchasing instruments for students who could not afford to buy them. Mr. Rene Gil continues his mission as a member of the school’s Educational Excellence School Advisory Council and participates in all school events. His goal as a Hall of Fame partner is to assist the school in every way he can; to make a difference in the lives of the students.
