Arise Foundation

Susan and Edmund Benson, co-founders of the Arise Foundation, have launched an all-out offensive, targeting children and young adults in disadvantaged areas with three programs. “Enviro Cops” puts elementary students in charge of guarding their environment, while “Mini Cops” reaches little ones in preschool, kindergarten and first grade by teaching them to play by the rules and stay out of harm’s way. Aimed at middle and senior high school students, their third program “Secrets of Success” (SOS) provides tools for solving today’s complex problems concerning personal, social and health issues. Partnering with Metro-Dade government and law enforcement as well as organizations including the Florida Poison Prevention Network and the Department of Environmental Resources Management is the strength in Arise’s programs.
