Baptist Health Systems of South Florida
Inducted 1997
Baptist Health Systems of South Florida has implemented
a new Dade Partner educational program called the Health
Occupations for teens program (HOT Teens). HOT Teens is
a program meeting throughout the year often on Teachers
Work Days. Students complete a shadowing rotation, a group
educational project focusing on health issues relevant to
teens, and educational seminars.
Teens are required to participate in community hospital
activities including Women’s Health day, Children’s
Health Day, and Walk to Cure Diabetes. The purpose is to
introduce students to health care careers hoping that this
experience will prepare them for the challenges that lie
ahead in their future educational pursuits that will lead
to a satisfying and productive career
