Inducted 1996Enabling students to realize their own potential in a challenging, engaging, and supportive environment describes the efforts of thes Hall of Famer. Major Robert Munecas has played a key role in developing many of the District’s programs which include: Buckle Up for Safety, Read-A-Book Campaign, Elementary Field Days, Food and Toy Drives, Special Olympics Torch Run, Teen Alcohol Enforcement Campaign, Operation Drive Safely, Police Explorer Program, and Middle School Sports Day. In addition, the Miami-Dade Police Department supports the schools’ efforts in promoting student attendance. As a result, Doral Middle School, a new school, now ranks as one of the top three middle schools in the District, maintaining an attendance record above that of the District and the State average.
